The user must first download the drivers from the IOGear web site. The download link has been provided. GUC232A drivers here The Windows file must be unzipped and the location of the unzipped folder must be remembered.
The user can then plug the GUC232A into the Windows 7 computer. Windows 7 will then try to install the drivers automatically. If that is unsuccessful the user can then open the Windows 7 start menu, right click on Computer and select Manage. From the computer management window the user would select Device Manager. In the Device Manager pane of the windows the user would expand the Ports (COM & LPT) option and the user should see a device call ATEN USB to Serial bridge. The user can right click on this device and select Update Driver Software in the next window the user would select the options to browse the computer for the drivers. The next window is going to give the user an option to select a specific folder for the installation wizard to get the drivers from. The user would click on the Browse button and browse to the unzipped folder that came from the IOGear web site and the user would then click the Next button. From there the Windows 7 drivers should be installed.
